Side effects from prednisolone

Heard a loud noise which has cause my ear to feel blocked, i went to my local a&e who decided to give me 60mg of predisolone and 20mg of omeprazole whislt i was there , i was not aware of what he was giving me as it was not explained, i have only taken 60mg (12x 5mg ) so far and was told to continue taking 60mg a day for 7days. The following day i experience very bad symptoms confusion, mood swings, abdominal pain, weakness. Can i stop taking as it is doing alot of damage and seems too much

Your doctor might have diagnosed your condition as acoustic trauma and resulting hearing loss, he seems to have advised steroids for the same. He seems to have given low dose steroids but sometimes people can get side effects like you are getting. If your hearing normal now, you can stop steroids (prednisone)
