Severe cough only during sleeping

My child is suffering from cough from last 2 weeks. Throughout the day, she is normal having little bit cough, but after sleeping approx 1/2 hour in day or night suddenly she awaken with severe cough until she vomits. She is taking normal cough syrup prescribed by physician s. Kindly suggest.

She must be having chest congestion. Give her ago ascoril LS 5 ml 3.times a day, if not responded, then better to get her checked by nearby pediatrician
