You mentioned undergoing septoplasty at the age of 14, which is relatively early, and it is uncommon to experience the same issue or require repeat surgery at this stage. However, the symptoms you were experiencing, such as nasal discharge and obstruction, may be occurs again but due to another underlying pathology rather than a recurrence of the original condition.

It depends on your symptoms. If you feel you’re having trouble lately, can get it checked through an endoscope (diagnostic nasal endoscopy). If the septal deviation was corrected, the chance of recurrence is pretty low. Symptoms due to other conditions like allergic rhinitis/polyps etc need to be addressed.

Hi...I hope the issues that you were facing due to the deviated septum have resolved. The probability of needing a revision surgery is very low...you will have to wait and watch till you turn 18 and see if your symptoms recur. The body framework of the nose keeps developing till the age of 18. Hence keep going for regular follow ups to your ENT specialist.
