Seasonal Bronchial Spasm

2020-11-18 13:33:57
Hi, During the onset of the winters, there's some tendency of bronchial spasms - the patient is already having chronic bronchial tendencies since childhood. However, a recent physician consultation has a change in drug - Levosalbutamol inhaler has been changed to a Budesonide (corticosteroid) inhaler. The patient is however a bit hesitant towards this attributed to steroid usage. Is it safe to take this up given that steroids are often known to be a medication that can't be paused. Any views on this will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

It's a myth that inhaled steroids can't be stopped . The dose of inhaled steroid is in microgram one tenth dose compared to oral steroid.
