Is it possible to prevent sciatica by lying down for 5-10 minutes after working for 1 hr continuously on laptop everytime?
Which is better : lying down or exercising for those 5-10min?

It is better to do stretching. Take a walk for 2-3 minutes. When sitting, follow postural precautions. Only 5-10mins of lying down is not going to help. Exercise regularly to increase endurance.
