Dear Sir Which medication is prescribed to a patient depends on a lot of factors like presenting symptoms, previous response, side effects that were experienced earlier to name a few. Hence, I will highly recommend that you consult a psychiatrist in person or if you are already seeing a psychiatrist talk to him in detail about the medication. The medications used in schizophrenia and depression are prescribed only after a detailed assessment and should ideally be given by a psychiatrist after consultation. So, please take the medicines after seeing a psychiatrist. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra

Well Schizophrenia can have depression in multiple stages of illness. If it's not significant depression then SSRI like sertraline or escitalopram will not help you much. Better to treat schizophrenia in optimal dose if depression is not that severe. Happy to help you. For any further clarification get back to us.
