Rubella infection is dangerous. It produces many serious defects in the embryo, foetus, and baby. In fact an active Rubella infection is an indication for MTP. CMV is that way an inocuous infection. It doesn't cause many serious defects in the embryo, foetus or the baby and it is not an indication for MTP.
