One of my colleague has rheumatoid arthritis. I have searched for it on the internet a lot and I'm really scared and depressed. So just want a doctor's perspective on this.

You need to consult Rheumatologist and orthopedician. The knowledge available on Internet has to interpreted carefully. Rheumatoid arthritis is not a untreatable disease. Consult your doctor, will be of great help. Regards
