Hi My father is a diabetic patient. He tested sodium level recently. It was 125 in the beginning took medicines for few days then again tested it increased to 128 , again took medicines and tested after 7 days of completion of medicine it is 127 . Kidney report is normal . Is there anything I need to concerned about?

Many drugs can cause hyponatremia. Better check for those drugs.

There are ‘n’ number of causes for the decreased sodium levels in the body. Should check the volume status and other reports to detect the cause. As your father is diabetic, there are chances of decreased sodium levels due to elevation in blood glucose levels. Kindly consult.
