I have irregular periods so doctor suggested to do follicular studies to know the ovulution.. sonography for follicular can be done internally (transvaginal) or externally (abdominal) ??

Usually internally.That is transvaginal.Doctor will tell by which day you have to go for follicular study.If follicle is not increasing then she will prescribe some injection.After getting optimum size then injection for rupture of egg.
