No, if everything else are normal patient will not need dualysis.
But does the patient has any other underlying disease like
Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic
Kidney disease, or on long term medication for any other disease?
High serum
creatinine level is not the only indication for dialysis.
Serum creatinine: 5.7. Need to do now are:
1) Minimise fluid intake to the least possible amount.
2) Make sure that blood pressure and blood
sugar are well controlled.
3) Estimate serum Potassium, Sodium, Urine routine examination, urine culture, Blood RE,
4) Ultrasound whole abdomen with main focus in the Kidney and urinary tract.
5) May also need CECT whole abdomen and other more investigations if no underlying pathology found following clinical evaluation and investigations mentioned above.
