Regarding cervical cancer
Hello Dr.I am a 43 years old woman .I want to ask that is pap smear test is compulsory to take cervical cancer vaccine and what is the age bar to take this vaccine?

Hello, for vaccination for HPV pap smear is not compulsory. But, for screening cervical cancer or for other diagnostic purpose pap smear is required. You can take vaccination after 40-45 yrs age too. Yes pap smear test is compulsory and even after vaccination, regular pap smear test should also be done yearly or six monthly.
At the age of 45 years, you can get vaccinated.
Even males till age of 45 years can also get vaccinated for HPV.
