Regarding Amniocentesis Test

Hello Doctor, I missed my NT scan. So I took the Quadruple Test and the risk assessment for Down Syndrome is 1:144. And the report says Screen Positive for Trisomy 21. So I have been suggested for Amniocentesis. But I heard there are side effects of this test like miscarriage. So are these side effects real? I am so confused whether to go for the test or not. Kindly suggest me. Thank you.

But it's necessary to do amniocentesis in case of such high risk As continuing such pregnancy if there is risk of chromosomal abnormalities is not recommended
