Reddening  and watery eye

2020-08-30 05:27:18
History of pesticide(DDT) exposure five days back. Redding and watering of eye since 5 days, visited nearby ophthalmologist 3 days back. Under medication ( gatifloxacin eye drops, moxifloxacin eye ointment) since 2 days. There is no improvement of the symptoms. Is there a need to change the drugs? Or need to visit another ophthalmologist?

Hi ... I do feel that some anti inflammatory drops and lubricating drops will be required ,if cornea is not affected. The risk of infection is not much, in these cases, but inflammation has to be addressed. Either u take your concerns to the treating doctor or take a second opinion..

Good that you have visited an ophthalmologist and using the eye drops prescribed. If no improvement in 1 week then reconsult the Ophthalmologist.

Hi Since u have visited ophthalmologist and got a prescribed medicine nothing to worry. Please wait for 1 week for improvement. Meanwhile check if you are using the drops correctly in means of time. Check the expiry date of the medication. If all goes fine then nothing to panic.

Sir a picture of your eyes would have helped. You visited Ophthalmologist a couple of days later after injury. Hope you thoroughly washed the eyes after the incident. Chemical injury will take some time to heal so as the improvement in symptoms. Keep faith in your Ophthalmologist, keep regular follow ups and follow entire treatment course.
Next Steps
Alongwith the previous treatment Start with Eyedrops Flogel 1% one drop 4 times a day for both eyes. Keep a gap of 15 minutes between each Eyedrops. Also take Tab Celin 500 mg one tablet two times a day for 2 weeks.
