Rectal prolapse is prolapse of a part of or complete prolapse of the rectal mucosa . Rectal prolapse can be of various degrees and can occur due to  different causes and may end up in many complications. If it is not treated it may end up forming an ulcer to start with and other complication . The pic you have shared here must be a part of a study which is discussing a  criteria which they considered for research  it's not a part of standard treatment protocol It's best to get operated by a colorectal surgeon it may be contraindicated If the patient is very old or can't tolerate the procedure
