REASONABLE TIME TO GO FOR THYROID TEST

Since thyroid test is a hormonal test I have seen pathologist and doctors saying to come empty stomach and before 10 am to give the blood sample for thyroid profile test. Why is it so? I also went for parathyroid test and the doctor told me to give the sample in the morning around 7 am.

Hello Usually hormones have diurnal variation.. Values change in the same person at different times of a day.. So they have to b checked at specific timings depending on the clinical scenario. Thyroid sample always to b given in the morning before 10am.
