Raise in creatinine and eGFR is 74

My husband has elevated creatinine level of around 1.5. His eGFR is 74. PCI to LAD has been done. Type 2 diabetic. No signs of kidney damage. No protein in urine and no swelling. Does he have CKD?

Hi To call it CKD by definition creatinine should have been elevated for at least 3 months or there should be structural damage on ultrasound or protein in urine. If this creatinine post PCI then it could be AKI. Observe for now. Repeat creatinine after a week. Check urine ACR.

Was the creat 1.5 before or after PCI? If it was 1.5 previously, then he probably has CKD. If the value is after PCI, the creat rise might be due to the contrast used during PCI. Either way, he needs to be on constant rft monitoring and tight sugar control to prevent further damage
