QUERY REGARDING ANTIBIOTIC

2020-08-31 17:22:08
My father is suffering from Typhoid fever and his doctor has prescribed him Gramocef CV ( Cefixime 200 + Clauvanic Acid 125 mg) 1Tab BD and Azithromycin 500 mg 1 Tab OD. Usually an antibiotic is prescribed in equal combination. But why has he here prescribed Gramocef CV twice a day and Azithromycin Once a day ? Is this combination correct ?

Not all antibiotics prescribed twice daily. Prescribed antibiotics are of 2 different group so adviced to take so.

Each antibiotic is prescribed based on therapeutic index and half life of the drug ,so no worries ,it's the dose usually prescribed to the patients
