Query on Covid Vaccination

2021-08-19 04:10:47
Hi, My father got infected with Covid and his lungs score was 20/25. He was under oxygen supply and admitted to hospital for couple of weeks. Now, he has recovered but still a bit weak. Sometimes, once in 15 days, there are small blood clots in his cough. We got him checked regularly by the same doctor who treated him during covid after he was discharged. There are no issues found in the X-Ray or CT-Scan or D-Dimer reports. My query is: Are the clots normal, a sign of recovery or we need to take action? Secondly, he has been Covid negative for almost three months now, can he take the second dose of vaccination? Thanks!

Clots are never normal, we need to recheck HRCT chest as CT scan cant be normal if initial score was 20/25. if any blood thinner is consuming we are supposed to stop that. prior to vaccination get COVID-19 Antibody test done then only vaccination decision will be taken

Yes you can take the vaccination, nothing to worry about about the clots if it is minimal or less than 10 ml per day , if clots are persistent for more than 5 days, do a online consultation with a pulmonologist for further evaluation and management
