An increased number of white blood cells in the semen may be observed in patients with infectious or inflammatory processes. While germ cells and white blood cells both appear as round cells on microscopic examination, immunohistochemical stains are used to differentiate between the 2 cell types. Immunohistochemical stains are performed if more than 5-10 round cells/HPF are present. An increased number of white blood cells may signify infection or inflammation of the genital tract...it can be treated Consult nearest urologist they will help you further
