hello there.
to keep a good health humans need about 1-1.5 grams of proteins per kg of body weight.
therefore if you have a protein supplement, its not going to cause any problem.
but instead I would suggest you to go for natural ways like have more pulses, sprouts etc. egg is a very good source of protein for non vegetarian and milk is best for vegetarians.
