We are planning to have a baby now. What precautions should be taking before we start? Also any medication or test that needs to be done?

Hello, Have a healthy diet, do moderate exercise, avoid excessive caffeine intake. Ask your wife to avoid eating papaya. Also, refrain from alcohol and smoking. Also, consult a gynecologist to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Nothing as such. No tests required as such. If you get pregnant, you will have to undergo certain tests at regular intervals which will be suggested by your gynaecologist. Also, you need to take care of your diet. You will have to take care of your Haemoglobin levels. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
