Hi I just finished growth scan for my wife. Every parameter is normal according to the scan. The fetal weight is 1215 gms for 28 w 6 days gestational age. However the scan said that my wife has placentomegaly. The size of the placenta is 5.1 cms. The doctor suggested repeat scan after 3 weeks. Anything to be worried about? Can Placentomegaly be treated?

These are the findings which are generally read by the Gynaecologist and ignored. All that I can advise is that you should get your blood sugar tested (6 readings)

Nothing to be worried about get her sugar levels checked and torch IgM levels checked It could be because of infection or deranged sugars

placentomegaly occurs in various conditions,, could be infection, diabetes anemia etc…sometimes all u need is a periodic followup to check fetal well being ..it doesnt specifically require any intervention per se
