Piercing bump what should i do?

I had gotten an upper lobe ear piercing about a month ago and is wearing little silver studs. My left ear is alright but my right ear has started to develop a bump on the backside. It only hurts when i try to twist the stud or otherwise no pain but I'm afraid of infection. Piercing aftercare: i used to apply lukewarm coconut oil on my piercings 2 to 3 times a day everyday and i made sure I didn't stress the piercing. History: 4 to 5 months back i got a helix piercing wearing a gold loop but after 3 to 4 weeks it got infected (both ears) with puss discharge and bump and it used to pain to even touch a bit. At last i had to remove the loop and my piercing hole got closed and the infection disappeared on its own after the closure of the piercing. What should i do to make the bump go away my piercing to be alright? Please suggest some genuine things.

There are two possibilities here. It could be an hypertrophic scar (which is usually the case in ear piercings) or the unfortunate keloid!.. either way you need to remove the stud and see how the changes are after a few weeks or so.. if nothing happens u might need a local steroid injection into the bump. If not.. if the bump starts growing you might need multiple lines of intervention like steroid injection compression studs , ointments massage and lastly surgical removal
Next Steps
consult a plastic surgeon or dermatologist
Health Tips
better to avoid piercing in the ear cartilage region.

You are developing a keloid You need to stop using the piercing and consider ear cuffs instead The keloid "may" increase in size even if you stop wearing the stud in which case it can accordingly be manage Switch to ear cuffs and hope the bump doesn't increase further

based on your description, it's important to address the bump on your recent upper lobe piercing. Here are some general suggestions: Consult a Dermatologist: Given your history of previous piercing complications, it's crucial to consult with a professional piercer or a healthcare provider. i can assess the situation in person, provide accurate advice, and determine if there's an infection or another issue. Avoid Twisting or Touching: Refrain from twisting or touching the stud unnecessarily. This can introduce bacteria and irritate the piercing. Continue with Good Aftercare: Consider using a saline solution for cleaning instead of coconut oil. Saline solution is a recommended aftercare product for piercings as it helps maintain cleanliness without introducing additional oils. Warm Compress: You can try applying a warm compress to the bump for a few minutes a couple of times a day. This may help reduce inflammation. Check for Allergies: Ensure that you're not allergic to the metal in the stud. Some people can be sensitive to certain metals, leading to irritation and bumps. Avoid Heavy Earrings: While your piercing is healing, avoid wearing heavy or dangling earrings that might put stress on the piercing. Remember, these are general suggestions and not a substitute for professional advice. Given your history of complications, it's highly recommended to consult with a piercer and me promptly to address the specific issue and receive personalized guidance.
