Patient consent form is a universal protocol where the patient is informed in detail about the procedure that has to be done and the merits and demerits of it. Though the chances of having a chemical peel related complication is extremely rare but they can happen and it can vary from person to person. It may be simple redness to chemical Burns. There may be changes in texture or colour of the skin which may be temporary or permanent. To avoid legal hassles, a professional carries out the procedure with the patient consent. No one intends to harm their patients but there may be unforeseen circumstances and complications. In my opinion, you should get a test peel done on a area behind the ear and wait for few days and then proceed with a full face chemical peel.
