Pcos and low brestmilk supply

2026-04-28 21:23:18
Hi doc, I was diagnosed with pcos and was on medication before my pregnancy.and had thyroid during my third trimester.  Now I am 42 days postpartum with really low brestmilk supply. Already tried meds to increase milk supply but with no results. Is pcos and thyroid a reason for low brestmilk supply ?. If it is , are there any treatments to increase milk supply?

Hi pcos wont cause lactation issues.for thyroid might be please repeat ur thyroid profile blood test to know whetger to take medications or not.tge otger things to do are increase ur hydration 3 to 4 liters of water ,keep the baby skim to skin contact , feed regularly 20 minutes each side everytime make the baby suck ,have lactare capsules thrice daily.and if ur bany passes 5 to 6 times urine freely and passes motion atelast within 10 days once gains weight and sleeps more then tats a good sign ur feeding is adequate.
