Paracetamol 250mg/5ml Suspension

We had  given paracetamol 250mg/5ml Suspension 4ml each time to my 2.5 year old baby with 13 kg weight at yesterday night 9 PM then 2 AM then 8 AM then 2 PM and now at 8PM. As before lapses of 24 hour we have given 5th dosage , is there any problem. We are bit worried as in bottle written 4 times maximum in 24 hour. We given 5 times within 24 hour. Kindly help with your valuable suggestion in this regard. Thank you.

Hello, I understand your concern The recommended safe limit is up to 60 mg/kg/day (max 4 doses in 24 h). Since one extra dose was given, mild overdose may have occurred, but serious toxicity is unlikely if the child is well now.
Next Steps
Do not give more paracetamol for the next 24 hours. Keep child well-hydrated. Use tepid sponging (lukewarm water wipes). Keep room comfortably cool and child lightly dressed. Next time, give paracetamol every 6 hours (max 4 times/day) only if temperature is more than 100.3F
Health Tips
Monitor for: Vomiting Loss of appetite Unusual sleepiness or irritability Yellowish eyes/skin (rare sign of liver effect) If any of these occur → see a doctor immediately.

Please stop hereafter.use tepid sponging to delay the intervals between dosage.watch out for vomitting,loss of appetite or lethargy
