It is possible that there are two different things going on or they both could be related. Have you had any injuries in the past? Is there any swelling around the joint? Do the joints click when moved and is it painful when it clicks. Such questions will help answer the problem. You will need to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon for examination and any investigations as appropriate.

Kindly get xrays done for the wrist and elbow joints. Consult a local ortho surgeon. You can also mail them to bdbaruah[at]orthodoc[dot]in for a second opinion. Unlikely for thyroid to be impacting if the pain is localized.
