Pain in lumbar area

Since few days my mother suffering from lower back pain...It hurts her during bending or standing up from sitting postion.. Feeling relieved during lying over bed one sidedly or propping up her back against any object This pain appeared firstly in a winter season 1 year back..Then pain was severe and lasted for several days..Within 1 year the pain was absent but now again it reappeared... What is the possible reason of this and what are the dos  and don'ts of this problem..??? Plzz ssuggest elaborately...

This is lumbar disc herniation which is a mechanical issue, greeting aggravated on loading spine(sitting, standing) and relieved by lying dowm(offloading). She needs combination of rest, exc endurance training etc. Typically no pills can reverse this
