Pain in left knee

Lately I have been feeling pain in my left knee. When I sit in a position for not a very long duration also, it feels like it is stuck. Also, every now and then I hear some clicks in my knee when I move or stand. It takes some effort to climb stairs or if I have to sit in a sit-ups position. I'm unable to do it with ease as compared to sometime back. Please advise what should be done in this situation?

Please get an MRI scan of your knee and this will give a clear picture regarding your cruciates, menisci , chondral surfaces and collaterals and will guide your doctor whether you need just painkillers and physiotherapy or any surgical intervention
