The MRI brain is unremarkable except for age-related changes. The cervical spine MRI shows erosive changes involving the C1–C2 (atlantoaxial) region with associated soft tissue thickening and mild epidural extension. The findings are more suggestive of an infective or inflammatory process (including rheumatoid pannus), as mentioned in the report. Although plasmacytoma or multiple myeloma is not the leading possibility based on the MRI, it cannot be completely excluded.
