My husband is having pain in lower back.X ray shows that L4-5 & L5-S1 intervertebral disc spaces appear reduced and vacuum phenomenon is noted at L5-S1 level with end plate sclerosis with facetal arthropathy

You need to see a spine surgeon and need full evaluation if it's only back pain or there is associated neurological involvement also. Depending on the evaluation, proper management can be suggested.
