Your
liver enzymes (SGPT 530, SGOT 400) are very high — this is not mild and needs proper evaluation by a physician + gastroenterologist. It may not be only due to psychiatric medicines; fatty liver itself can also raise enzymes.
Important points:
• Alprax (alprazolam) does NOT treat OCD long-term — it only reduces anxiety temporarily.
• OCD needs SSRI treatment in proper dose + CBT (ERP therapy).
• Some SSRIs are relatively liver safer (like sertraline or escitalopram) but must be started under monitoring.
•
Liver function tests should be checked before and 4–6 weeks after starting medicine.
• Avoid alcohol, oily food, and unnecessary medicines.
Best plan:
1. Consult psychiatrist + physician together.
2. Repeat
LFT, ultrasound liver.
3. Start OCD medicine at low dose with monitoring.
4. Add CBT therapy (very effective for OCD).
Do not stay only on alprazolam — it won’t control OCD properly.
