Numbness in tongue after wisdom tooth ex
I underwent wisdom tooth extraction in dec 2021 and after anesthesia wear off still numbness in tongue there .I asked doctor he said it will heal with time and then after 2 months I went to prosthodontist and used tablet combination of methyl cobalmin+ pragbalin till now today doctor says it is permanent now I want to know is it true that numbness don't go and be permanent and the first doctor didn't mention about this and said it is easy as it is easily positioned now I want to know if first doctor made any mistake my xray first one before removal 2 nd after removal

Your wisdom tooth has close proximity with the mandibular nerve. The numbness is common side effect of lower wisdom tooth extraction if there is nerve proximity. It may or may not improve with time. In 80% cases the condition improves in 6-8 months.
Unfortunately the loss is irreversible in 20% cases.
Your doctor has not done anything wrong. These things may happen. Only thing is that patient should have been informed about the side effects.
But in health things are never so straight forward as they seem to be.
