-Have you experienced these episodes before? If yes, how did you cope with then?
- How long have you been experiencing these symptoms?
- Rate the severity of your symptoms on a scale of 1-5( not severe to very severe).
- do these symptoms make you feel dysfunctional?
- What could be the possible triggers? Did anything happen recently in your life that could have cause you to feel this way?
- is there a risk if you acting on self-harm thoughts?
Next Steps
You should definitely confide in a trusted family friend or a friend if you are at risk at harming yourself. Formulate a crisis support plan for yourself with this trusted person who can be your emergency contact support. I'm the meanwhile, go see a psychologist or a therapist who can give you a formal diagnosis and refer you to a psychiatrist if required depending on the answers to the above questions.
