Hello Doctor, I have missed my periods for a last few months. Have got few tests run and blood reports looks ok but TVS shows that endometrium thickness is 16.5mm. I am being suggested hysteroscopic D&C for the same. Is 16.5 mm too thick and needs the procedure?

Endometrial thickness before periods would be raised It is thick because you haven't got your periods You do not need the procedure What you need is a medicine to help you get your periods and then repeat ultrasound on day two look at the endometrial thickness

You can also get a simple D&C done without hysteroscopy. The effect will be the same.
