No BCG mark on arm for 8 week old baby

Hi Dr. I gave birth to my second daughter in May and now she is 8 weeks old. She still did not get BCG vaccination mark on her arm yet. It did not blister or leave any mark on the arm. I am worried if it hasn't worked or worse the hospital somehow missed giving it to her ( though they took her for vaccination and have noted down bcg in her records). The neonatologist has told us to wait for 6 months but I am concerned as my elder daughter had the blister and mark on her arm within a month itself. Please advice what is usually done in this case and what could be the reason? Thank you!

Hello ma'am . The  Hospital has documented that they have given BCG vaccine to the baby. So your baby has received the vaccine. Sometimes children do not mount the usual response of the BCG vaccine in form of the ulcer and the mark. However, you should not worry as your baby will mount an immunity. Sometimes there may not be a mark...no need to worry at all

A raised blister will appear in most people vaccinated with BCG, but not everyone. If your child did not have this reaction to the vaccine, it does not mean that they have not responded to it. There's no need to vaccinate with BCG a second time.
