Nipcare cream for cracked nipples

Hi I have been recommended to use nipcare ointment by doctor after delivery.now my baby is 7 months old and my milk supply is reduced and i have stopped feeding. Can I still use nipcare ointment in nipples even if iam not feeding as i have always have issues of nipple dryness,and it is working for me,is it safe to use?
