Niddle stick injury

Hello doctors. Yesterday after a IM injection I have accidentally prick in thump finger. Little blood come out. I don't know the patient history and don't have their numbers.. patient is diabetic and a stroke patient.  I have taken hepatitis injection 6 month ago .. but for precaution I today done a hepatitis B antibody test which report is yet to come.. I am little worried . Am I need to do anything else..

Thanks for reaching out. You may take tetanus as a precaution and also MUST do HIV I & II testing along with Hepatitis C antibody titres. Please keep the injury site clean with antiseptic solution and apply bandaid over it. Take care

Hi, Usually we need to follow post needle, stick, injury, reflexes and protocols according to the local guidelines. To be more clear as I understand that you are a nurse, I would suggest you to take in to the patient background as you might be having his file and details. As you already have got the booster dose of hepatitis, unless patient is ser positive, you don’t need to worry much.
