My son is new born and just 11 days old, and he used to have 2 to 3 bowel movements per day. However, he hasn't had a bowel movement since last 3 days, which is approximately 72+ hours ago. But he is crying, urinating, and feeding normally. Is it normal? What is the frequency of bowel movement.? When should we see doctor? Please help

I hope baby would have passed first stool (meconium)with in 24 hrs of life.If that is the case and   baby is on exclusive breastfeeding, active and not having complaints of vomiting and abdomen is soft you can wait even for one week or so..
Next Steps
continue direct breastfeeding and monitor for abdominal distension, vomiting..
Health Tips
Mostly babies used to pass with in a week..just watch for the danger signs

As long as your baby is feeding well, is passing urine frequently (i.e atleast 8 to 10 times a day), is sleeping well, has soft non bulging (i.e not distended) abdomen, is not vomiting frequently and is not cranky or crying excessively, then you can wait uptill 5 to 6 days for baby to pass motion on its own. If you see any of the above problem signs in baby, then please consult a pediatrician.
