Hi..To get rid of completely...need to treat the cause and not symptoms..don't do exercises after neck starts hurting..you need to prevent it..need to check your posture..being an IT professional..check muscles dystrophy and imbalance..correct it and than go in for strengthening program..need to rule out biomechanic faults. ..so please consult physiotherapists or me personally.
