My last period is on 17th Jan

My monthly periods are regular. I have no any problem related on that.my last period date is 17th Jan. in Feb after 17th with the help of preganews kit I test twice... but kit result show negative. I really don't know is I am pregnant or not. what should I do ? if my periods are miss then why there is negative result on kit?
