Muscle gain

I am a skinny guy. My normal diet is 2-3 chapatti 3 times a day, 1 glass milk at night and sometimes snacks and fruits. I am a pure vegetarian so i dont eat eggs.  How should i increase my muscles and body size not only belly. what should be there in my diet and in what quantity so as to increase muscles. Also should i use protein powder to gain muscles? If yes then which one or i can take any powder available in the market?
