First of all if the watery loose stools are getting semi solid with the child active and feeding well, could indicate resolution of the viral fever. And you could wait for the consistency to normalise.
But if there is persistent fever, with decreased oral intake and activity with foul smelling stools/ blood in stools, kindly get the baby evaluated by a pediatrician.
Also would suggest not to rely on formula feed and give appropriate home cooked complementary feeds.
