Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT Persistent ear blockage following a recent cold or upper respiratory infection is commonly due to Eustachian tube dysfunction caused by residual mucosal congestion or fluid in the middle ear. Since you are already on anti-allergic medication (Allegra and Montair-LC) and a mucolytic-expectorant syrup (Brozedez), additional relief measures include maintaining good nasal hygiene with steam inhalation twice daily, adequate hydration, and avoiding forceful nose blowing. If the sensation persists beyond a few days or is associated with pain, hearing loss, or vertigo, a re-evaluation with tympanic membrane and nasal endoscopic examination is advisable to rule out middle ear effusion or secondary infection.
