If it is a mucocele, it will require surgical removal. It can get punctured by trauma and can subside in size but it will definitely recur once the fluid fills up again. The permanent treatment is achieved only by surgical excision of the mucocele including the associated salivary glands. Contact an oral surgeon for the procedure.
Next Steps
Delaying this treatment can cause fibrosis which can make the process of excision little more difficult and can also extend the healing phase.
