The specialist after thorough examination will order an MRI if he/she feels necessary. An MRI is not a basic investigation like a blood test or Blood
sugar checkup.

Preventive investigations include blood tests, chest xray, ECG , TMT or a 2D ECHO. In different specialties there are different preventive investigations. But MRI is not a Preventive investigation.
