Miscarriage at 11 week due to PCOS

Everything was normal at 7 week viability scan they before yesterday got brown bleeding. The doctor checked and confirmed there's no cardiac or fetal activity. She scolded for stopping metformin.as i have known pcos. I am very much shattered. D & C has been done. Pls let me know after how many months I can try to get pregnant. Is there any precautions that I should take to avoid  miscarriage.This is my second pregnancy. Pls help.
