Menstrual cycle concerns

In December I got my periods twice, first from 2nd to 7th Dec and then from 23rd Dec to 1st Jan. I guess this can be a hormonal imbalance but I'm not sure. The second menstrual cycle started with dark blood spotting and gradually kept increasing with a very heavy flow. What is exactly going on? I can't figure out. Please help.

it can be anovulation. make sure to rule out pregnancy. Use gives a good correlation. Contact your gynaecologist
