Medication side effects

A doctor prescribed me amitrip 10 mg for my severe body pain like nerve pain it acts good for the pain but I feel groggy and aggressive behaviour and also mild dizziness some time heart beats fast and also lightheaded can I take it half already I am takin 20 days continuously then 2 days once for 7 days still side effects continues

This medicine is Amitriptyline, used for nerve pain, and also as antidepressant. It also causes sedation and lightheadedness.
